The partnership between HELLENiQ ENERGY and the University of West Attica has renewed for an additional three academic years, through 2028, ensuring the continuation of this innovative postgraduate program.
Now well-established, the program has been offered since 2019 by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of West Attica, with the support of HELLENiQ ENERGY and its subsidiary, HELLENiQ Petroleum (formerly HELLENIC PETROLEUM). The two-year curriculum leverages both existing and emerging opportunities in the competitive and fast-evolving hydrocarbons sector.
HELLENiQ ENERGY has been involved from the outset, supporting both the program’s design and delivery. Its financial contributions fund scholarships for participating students and strengthen the University’s academic and research capabilities.
The program’s objective is to train highly skilled professionals, equipped to take on positions of responsibility and leadership in line with industry developments, thereby enabling graduates to build successful careers in companies engaged in the production, processing, and distribution of oil and natural gas.
The 7th cohort is already underway, with classes having started in March 2025. To date, more than 100 students have successfully completed the program, and at least 50 graduates are currently employed in leading companies within the sector.
Dr. Emilia Kondyli, Director of the “MSc in Oil and Gas Process Systems Engineering” program and President/Chairperson of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the newly established School of Engineering, University of West Attica, remarked: “We are truly proud of jointly creating, developing, and running a unique and outstanding postgraduate program—unparalleled in Greece. The collaboration established between HELLENiQ ENERGY, the country’s largest energy group, and our University has resulted in a modern and exemplary program, both academically and in preparing highly skilled professionals for the most competitive areas of the hydrocarbon industry.”
