HELLENiQ ENERGY strengthens its renewables portfolio through the acquisition of ABO Energy Hellas

HELLENiQ ENERGY announces the acquisition of ABO Energy Hellas and six affiliated entities by its wholly owned subsidiary, HELLENiQ Renewables.

The agreement includes the acquisition of the entire share capital of the Greek subsidiary of the German group ABO ENERGY GmbH & Co. KGaA.

The acquisition includes a portfolio of 22 renewable energy projects under development, with a total licensed capacity of 1.5 GW, across all renewable technologies, as well as a development and construction platform for renewable energy projects. The portfolio includes 340 MW of PVs, classified under Priority Category B, as well as 550 MW in energy storage (BESS) projects that are eligible for participation in the ongoing process of obtaining priority connection terms.

Through this new investment, HELLENiQ ENERGY expands its total portfolio of RES projects under development to more than 6 GW, accelerating the implementation of the Group's strategic objective to achieve at least 2 GW of installed capacity from RES by 2030.

This agreement marks another step forward in the implementation of HELLENiQ ENERGY’s strategic plan for energy transition, strengthening its role as a leading integrated energy provider in Southeastern Europe.
